Health and Safety Fair

The Health Resource Center Foundation is conducting its annual free community Health and Safety Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, on the Washington Cathedral campus, 12300 Woodinville-Redmond Road N.E.
   Thirty-two booths representing a wide range of health and wellness areas will be available for information and screening purposes. This year's program includes an emphasis on children's safety and women's health. Children's helmets are available for $10 and will be fitted by head injury specialists. Mammograms will be available.    Puget Sound Blood Center will have their donor bus on site. Appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and may be made either by calling (425) 869-5433 or at www.wacathedral.org.
   Personal health screening for high blood pressure, hypertension, osteoporosis, diabetes, asthma, high cholesterol and carpal tunnel will be also be available.
   Traditional information booths include addiction support groups, women's aerobics, weight management, divorce recovery, learning disabilities, substance abuse, parenting and marriage enrichment and Christian Community Hospice. Other programs this year include fire safety, disaster preparedness, women's booths.
