Gifted student program applications being accepted

The Northshore School District will accept applications for its 2003-2004 gifted programs during October for the Junior High Honors program and November for the Elementary Advanced Program.
   Applications will be available at neighborhood elementary and junior high schools in October for the Junior High Honors program and in the elementary schools in November for the Elementary program.
  
   Elementary
   Advanced Program
   Students currently in grades two through five can apply for the 2003-2004 Elementary Advanced Program. Parents of those students are invited to attend an information meeting on Oct. 28 from 7-8:30 p.m.
   Applications will be available at the meeting and at the schools.
  
   Junior High
   Honors Program
   Students currently in grade six can apply for the Junior High Honors Program in the areas of humanities (English/Social Studies) and/or math. Current 7th and 8th grade students can apply for the Honors humanities program only. Math testing for current 7th and 8th grade students interested in the Honors math program is done during the school year through consultation with math teachers and counselors at the junior highs.
   Parents of students applying for the 2003-2004 Junior High Honors Program are invited to a parent information meeting on Oct. 1 from 7-8:30 p.m.
   Both meetings will be held in the Ricketts Auditorium located at 18315 Bothell Way NE, Bothell.
   Applications will be available at the meeting and at the schools.
