Sept. 16: A woman in the 16400 block of NE 195th heard her car alarm going off and ran outside. Prior to the alarm sounding, the woman had seen a light colored SUV cruising slowly through her neighborhood. Police responded and found a gold colored SUV parked nearby in the Leota Junior High parking lot. The engine was warm and the ignition had been punched. Officers ran the plates and learned the car was reported stolen from Edmonds back on Sept. 8. The stolen car was impounded and officers were able to gather evidence which contained fingerprints.
Sept. 15: Suspect smashed through the front door of an office in the 19500 block of 144th Avenue using a large chunk of concrete.
The suspect then used the same block to crash through an interior door which triggered an audible alarm. The suspect fled leaving no other evidence at the scene.
Sept. 14: A girl in the 19800 block of 164th Avenue NE came home to get an address book out of her parent's room. She entered the room to find it in total disarray. Cloths were strewn about, draws dumped upside down and end tables knocked over.
She immediately called her brother and confronted him, but when he claimed no knowledge of the acts,he called 911.
Police arrived and learned that all door were locked and that the suspect gained entry through a basement window.
The suspect took numerous items including a rifle, jewelry, cell phones and a television.
Officers lifted multiple sets of prints and other evidence which will be processed through AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System) for a match.
Sept. 14: A man in the 14100 block of NE 181st Place heard laughter outside and looked out to see three teenage boys standing in the parking lot. A minute later he heard a loud crash and ran outside to find that the three teens had driven a golf cart into the side of a parked car. The man ran after the teens but could not catch them. He called 911 and when police arrived they discovered that the golf cart had done extensive damage to the passenger side of the parked car. Based on the witnesses description of the teens police have several leads.
