Northshore students named National Merit Semifinalists

The National Merit Scholarship Foundation has designated 11 Northshore seniors as National Merit Semifinalists.
   The semifinalists from Bothell High are Theresa Eugenio, daughter of Edwin and Teresita Eugenio of Bothell, and Crystal Lindaberry, daughter of Kathleen and Scott Billington of Bothell.
   Those named from Inglemoor High include Zachary Billey, son of Barbara Larson and Joseph Billey of Bothell; Joshua Boris, son of Cynthia Penn and Walter Boris of Kirkland; Jameson Fox, son of Debbie and Steven Fox of Woodinville; Clayton Hoefer, son of Jennifer and Blake Hoefer of Kenmore; Vincent Pai, son of Sharon and David Pai of Kenmore; Andrew Pearsall, son of Kim Lorn and David Pearsall of Kenmore; Pamela Thomas, daughter of Debra and David Thomas of Redmond; Xio Wang, son of Ning Zhu and Jian Wang of Bothell.
   The semifinalist from Woodinville High is Beatrice J. Sanford, daughter of John and Joyce Sanford.
   Across the nation, the Foundation designates about 16,000 semifinalists from among nearly 1.2 million students who take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test.
   The semifinalists, who represent less than 1 percent of each state's high school graduating class, are now competing for merit Finalist status and an opportunity to obtain a National Merit Scholarship next spring.
