Chamber of Commerce hosts candidates forum
   The Duvall Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly general meeting at noon, Oct. 1, in the Rose Room of the Duvall Library. The program will be a candidates forum with all four candidates for positions 1 and 2 in Legislative District 45. The candidates for position 1 are incumbent Toby Nixon and challenger Dave Asher. The candidates for position 2 are incumbent Laura Ruderman and challenger Elizabeth Bookspan. The public is invited and welcome to attend this informative meeting.
  
   P & G AfterHours
   Saturday, Sept. 28P & G presents an evening of soulful and heart-stealing songs, presented by two of the area's most engaging and personable entertainers, Mat Price and Rebecca Cohen. Rebecca's songs are a rich mix of folk, pop and country and her Emmy Lou Harris-like voice engages audiences of all genres, while Mat writes songs about sailors cast adrift at sea, or lovers running out of gas on a country road, hobos and recovering hobos and hobo wannabes.    Bingo night at the senior center
   The Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation is hosting a family bingo night on Friday, Oct. 4 from 6-9 p.m. Great prizes and a special blackout game where the winner will get a cash prize.    Open house at Two Rivers Yoga and Massage
   On Sunday, Sept. 29, from noon to 4 p.m., Two Rivers Yoga and Massage will celebrate its 1st anniversary. Free yoga and massage, music and great food.    Yoga hike in Carnation
   Combine your love of nature with your passion for yoga on a scenic local hike with Sara Stow. All are welcome.    Moms in Touch International begins again
   Moms in Touch is starting again for the Riverview School District. MITI is groups of moms who meet weekly for one hour to pray for their children, their teachers and school concerns. Prayer makes a difference in the lives of our children. Those interested should call Jeanne at (425) 333-4732.
  
   Preschool openings
   Children's Services of Sno-Valley has openings in the morning 4-year-old class and afternoon 3-year-old preschool class. Using multiple intelligences theory, the preschool focuses on problem-solving, building self-reliance and learning through creative play. The goal is to make sure that every child has successful early learning experiences. Flexible potty training rules and affordable tuition are offered. Classes begin the week of Sept. 16.    Strengthening Families class
   Children's Services offers a nine-week class that covers positive discipline skills, problem-solving, relationship building, emotional expression and child development. The Tuesday evening class meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m . beginning Sept. 24 and costs $20 per person (for the full nine weeks). Childcare is available. The Strengthening Families class gets better each quarter and fall tends to fill quickly, so call (425) 788-7924 to reserve a spot.
  
   Yoga workshop for neck and shoulders
   A yoga neck and shoulders workshop is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 22, 10-11:30 a.m., at Carnation's Two Rivers Yoga and Massage. The neck and shoulders often hold a great deal of tension that can lead to headaches, pain and muscle spasms. In this workshop, Kelley Rush will help students develop better postural awareness, learn stretches to alleviate tension, strenghten weak shoulder and neck muscles, release stress and deeply relax through guided breathing. Workshop includes a handout for home. No previous yoga experience necessary.    The Jets at Raging River Saloon
   The Raging River Saloon, located on Main Street in Fall City, will host the famous rockabilly five-piece group The Jets on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. with the Mickey Mudfingers Blues Review opening and then the Italian Rockabilly Band, The Jets, take the stage.    Sno-Valley Senior Center activities
   Lunch at center
   Every weekday at noon, the Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation serves a complete, nutritious and delicious lunch for $3 for those over 60. If under 60, the donation is $6.    Local help caring for older adults
   Are you caring for someone who is coping with the effects of stroke, diabetes or minor dementia? The Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation can help. The center offers the Adult Day Health program for older adults experiencing physical, mental or social problems. The certified program provides therapeutic activities that engage the mind and body while offering a break to the caregiver. Service is provided Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the center in Carnation and Wednesday at the Mount Si Senior Center in North Bend from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fees are based on a sliding scale with Medicaid and State Respite coverage available to eligible participants.    Children's Services of Sno-Valley is accepting registrations for their 3 and 4-year-old preschool classes and 24-36 month toddler playgroups. Using multiple intelligences theory, the preschool focuses on problem solving, building self-reliance and learning through creative play. Daytime and evening toddler playgroups provide opportunity for parent-child interaction in a rich classroom environment. Classes begin the week of Sept. 16.    A special time together
   Children's Services of Sno-Valley's Evening Toddler Playgroup provides working parents a great opportunity for quality time with their toddler.    Children's indoor playground
   Tired of being stuck inside? Bring your 0 to 5-year-old to Children's Services of Sno-Valley's indoor playground, open Wednesdays through Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The playground provides a convenient drop-in activity for families of young children.    Knitter's Guild in Carnation
   Are you a knitter and would like to join others who share a love of the craft? Or, have you always wanted to learn to knit, but didn't know who to contact? A group of knitters from the Snoqualmie Valley meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 31911 E.    Classes and support groups
   Children's Services of Sno-Valley, Duvall, is offering the following classes and support groups:
   Parents support group: An opportunity to share information, support and personal experiences, as well as learn about services available to your family. Single parents are encouraged to attend. Free ongoing sessions are scheduled for the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
   Grandparents support group: Informal support group for grandparents raising grandchildren. Free ongoing sessions are scheduled for the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

   Volunteers needed for Meals on Wheels
   Meals on Wheels delivery volunteers are a life link to the outside world for the recipients who frequently are unable to leave their homes. Volunteers deliver frozen pre-packed meals, bright smiles and friendly greetings. Volunteers are needed at the Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation to sort and deliver orders on Thursday afternoons for one to two hours. A car, valid driver's license and auto insurance are mandatory. Training and assistance are provided. Call Kate Miller at (425) 333-4152.
  
   Cherry Valley Riders meets monthly
   Cherry Valley Riders, a family-oriented horseback riding club, meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room of the Duvall Fire Station. Call (425) 788-9246.
