Candidates to speak

Local political candidates will discuss their platforms, answer questions and meet with community members Monday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the Willows Lodge in Woodinville at the annual meeting of the Hollywood Hill Association (HHA).
Confirmed speakers include US Representative Jay Inslee, King County Councilwoman Kathy Lambert, Sen. Bill Finkbeiner, Rep. Toby Nixon, candidate Dave Asher, Rep. Laura Ruderman and candidate Elizabeth Bookspan. The event is open to the public.
Admission is free and childcare will be provided on a donation basis. A no-host bar will also be available.
"This year we decided to open up our annual meeting to a broader audience and reduce the business side of our meeting to make this event more meaningful to our neighbors," says Torrey Russell, president of the Hollywood Hill Association. "It is not often that you can come face to face with every political candidate in one room prior to the election. We are grateful to James Simpkins of the Willows Lodge for donating the accommodations."
"For 26 years, the HHA has provided a respected non-partisan voice on many local issues.
"The opportunity to meet with our local political candidates, whose decisions will directly affect our everyday lives, is the essence of good grassroots involvement," says Michael Tanksley, past president of the Hollywood Hill Association.
