Man attempts robbery at Cottage Lake bank
At 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, there was what King County Sheriff's Sgt. Greg Dymerski called "an attempted robbery" at the Bank of America, Cottage Lake branch, at 19160 NE Woodinville-Duvall Rd.
Apparently a white male suspect described as being about 25 years old, 6 feet one inch tall, 160 pounds, with brown hair, walked into the Cottage Lake Bank of America and produced a note demanding money.
King County Sheriff's officers arrived shortly thereafter, but by that time, the man was gone.
"Bank personnel were uncertain as to whether the man walked away or drove off," said Dymerski.
The department's Guardian One helicopter flew over the scene.
"There were lots of deputies there," said Dymerski.
Woodinville police officers also responded, helping to check the area and secure the perimeters, said Sgt. Ken Wardstrom of the Woodinville Police Department.
Detectives from the Puget Sound Violent Crime Task Force were on scene as well and are working with the King County Sheriff's Office to assess the crime.
