Tailgate party and prizes at Cedarcrest stadium grand opening
Prizes, including a $600 guitar, will be raffled off to support district music programs
DUVALL ŠThe RHYTHM Music Boosters club will host a tailgate party for fundraising and celebration at the grand opening and dedication of Cedarcrest High School's new athletic stadium on Friday, Oct. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The public is invited to enjoy hot dogs and soda and great music from the Cedarcrest Jazz Band and Pep Band, as well as the Bellaires (provided by Mills Music).
Raffle tickets for fabulous prizes, including a $600 Limited Edition Washburn Guitar, will be on sale, with the winners to be announced during half-time at the football game.
Additional prizes include Microsoft Office XP, a free eye exam at the new Duvall Family Eye Care office, Redwood Tree Service ($150 value), $50 certificate for Home Depot, and a Remlinger Farms gift basket.
Also on sale (pending delivery) will be new license plate frames reading "Cedarcrest High School," "Go Red Wolves!" and featuring the distinctive CHS wolf logo.
The tailgate party will take place in the school's circular front courtyard, where the music department's newly personalized van (donated by Accurate Autobody) will mark the focal point for enjoying music, hot dogs and soda and raffle ticket sales, before the football game between the Cedarcrest Red Wolves and the Newport Knights.
The Riverview community, encompassing Carnation, Duvall and surrounding areas, has been eagerly awaiting this milestone event, enabling Cedarcrest High School athletes to enjoy sports events at home, on their own campus.
The RHYTHM club (Riverview Helping Youth To Have Music) works actively to support all district music programs throughout the year with a variety of fundraisers, including the annual Battle of the Bands (scheduled for March 2003).
Proceeds from the tailgate party will support Riverview School District music programs.
