Eycel Burchett could often be seen shopping in Woodinville stores with her faithful chihuahua, YoYo, who rode in a home-made bag attached to the front of Mrs. Burchett's walker. Sadly YoYo died in August and was greatly missed.
A Woodinville resident since 1973, Eycel passed away at her home Oct. 6 at age 85.
She was born in Opportunity, Wash., March 21, 1917, to Vern and Bertha Perry.
Eycel married Edwin Burchett in 1936. The couple lived in the Spokane area until 1947 when they moved to Lake City. Ed and Lycel were married for 56 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1992. Survivors include daughter, Barbara A. Myers Burchett of Spokane, Lois M. Burchett of Moses Lake and Roberta Burchett of Woodinville; sister, Glenavon J. Houk Medley of Spokane; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Eycel especially enjoyed working in her yard and took pride in showing her garden to anyone who stopped by. She was also an avid card player and enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends at the Northshore Senior Center.
At her request, no services will be held. Remembrances may be made to the Northshore Senior Center.
