Boy Scout Troop 411 honors Howard Miller
   
The Boy Scout Troop 411 end of the year Court of Honor was held at the Carnation American Legion Hall 199 on Oct 14. It honored the Scouts who earned merit badges from their summer activities.
Awards were from summer camp at Camp Brinkley, a 50-mile hike in the Olympic National Forest and individual merit badges that were earned over the past six months.
A special honor went to Howard Miller as past Asst. Scoutmaster and for various other volunteer duties he performed within the troop over the last 50 years.
He has been a mentor to many of the Scouts and other school children of the Valley. He and his wife operated Miller's Dry Goods in Carnation. Retired now, he volunteers his time at the Sno-Valley Senior Center. Howard was also awarded a 50-year pin from the troop members.
Eagle Scout Paul Stevens presented the 50-year pin to Howard.
