First case of flu reported in Snohomish County


SNOHOMISH COUNTY — Flu season officially opened Dec. 11 when the state’s first confirmed case of flu was reported in Snohomish County. A 9-year-old boy from Bothell tested positive for Influenza A/H3N2, one of three strains making the rounds this year. According to health officials, this case is the second confirmed incidence of flu of this type in the nation so far this flu season.
Flu shots are available at the Snohomish Health District Main Clinic by appointment on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Monday and Wednesday by appointment from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and walk-in from 1 to 4:30 p.m. The Main Clinic address s 3020 Rucker Ave., Suite 108, Everett.
