Thief up
to the challenge
April 28: Over this school year, police have received several reports of thefts from lockers in the boys’ locker room at Woodinville High. Most of the thefts have occurred during evening sports events and most were from unlocked lockers. Yet by dint of continuous reminders and education on the part of Woodinville police officers, students did start to use padlocks on their lockers. Not to be foiled, however, the thief or thieves now use bolt-cutters to gain access to student lockers, and recently a student’s wallet containing $80 was taken. Police are following up.
Woodinville ATM fraud activity
Woodinville banks and their customers have recently reported many incidents of debit-card thefts, and amounts as high as $4,000 have been fraudulently withdrawn from checking accounts in local banks. Police speculate that card numbers and PINs are being acquired by persons with access to debit-card transaction histories at local businesses and suggest people pay with cash or credit cards, rather than debit cards, at gas stations.
