This year’s Hunger Busters food drive was particularly successful.

Woodinville High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)  held their annual community service event, Hunger Busters, on Halloween night.

Students went door to door collecting canned food that was donated to Hopelink, a local Community Action Agency. Hopelink serves homeless and low income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities. This year’s Hunger Busters was especially successful. The number of cans collected was so immense the donations completely filled the pickup truck acquired for their delivery, forcing members to make not one, but two trips.

Unfortunately the unexpectedly large amount of cans left students unable to complete their assigned routes before the 9 p.m. deadline. If a pick up was not made at your residence, you can drop off donations at Hopelink, 16225 NE 87th St.
Redmond, WA 98052-3536.

FBLA is a student member organization dedicated to preparing students for the future and improving leadership abilities. The 2008-09 FBLA officers are Nikki Sternagel, president, along with Kaaren Hatlan, Forrest Howell, John Hwa, Jennifer James, Kysie Miao, Madelyn Player, Tara Theisen, Craig Thomas and Morgan Purvis, and Sarah Gibson, WHS faculty advisors.
