Lauren Elizabeth Crawford and Timothy Alexander Shaver were married on Saturday, Sept. 26 by Mr. John Whelan, the groom’s uncle, at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina.

Crawford, 31, is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs for Health Care in Washington, D.C. for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Crawford received her bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego and received a master’s in government from Johns Hopkins University, magna cum laude.

She is the daughter of Phillip Mark Crawford and Deborah Bachman Crawford of Woodinville, Washington. Crawford’s father is a tugboat captain in Valdez, Alaska for Crowley Maritime Corporation. Crawford’s mother is an event associate for Kim Ricketts Book Events in Seattle, Washington.

Shaver, 33, is a procurement specialist for the homebuilder EYA in Bethesda, Maryland. Shaver graduated from Villanova University and received a master’s degree in real estate from Johns Hopkins University.

He is the son of Todd Shaver of Aspen, Colorado and Nancy Benner of Alexandria, Virginia. Shaver’s mother is the agency manager of Bethesda Library in Bethesda, Maryland. His father is an investment manager.
