For two nights next week, Sparkman Cellars in Woodinville will transform into a country music experience.

Writers and Wine features four award-winning songwriters and the life stories behind some of their chart-topping hits. The event, which is presented by The Listening Room, takes place at Sparkman Cellars on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

“The event itself is very similar to the type of experience that you would get in Nashville,” said Jillian Becker, co-owner and producer of KJCo. “There's a lot of laughing that happens, there's also some tears that happen. It's a really intimate experience with amazing energy.”

She said these artists have written songs for country legends Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw and Garth Brookes, among many others. The event draws attention to the inspiration behind each story, she added. Featured songwriters include Kent Blazy, Danny Myrick, Matt Warren and Megan Linville.

“These folks have played together a lot, so they have really great rapport on stage,” Becker said. “It's a really collaborative show.”

In addition to the music, attendees can purchase an all-access pass to join the harvest wine experience at Sparkman Cellars. The pass also comes with a behind-the-scenes tour of the winery and early access to the venue.

According to Becker, Writers and Wine is a “teaser event” for more to come in Woodinville. She plans to eventually bring a larger songwriter festival to town in the future.

“There's really nothing else quite like this that happens in the Woodinville area,” she said. “The Woodinville wine country is just so beautiful and it's so accommodating for this type of experience.”

In the meantime, Becker said, she hopes to produce several more Writers and Wine nights between now and the festival.

“It's a unique experience that you typically can't get outside of Nashville,” she said. “You're going to feel these stories, both the happy and the sad, and get to experience the beauty of the music by the people who originally wrote it.”

Becker said tickets are going fast. To purchase a ticket, visit or
