Duvall Days fall victim to the coronavirus

Inside the giraffe costume was Jeff Hansen, pastor of the Duvall Adventure Community Church, which has had its home in the former Catholic Church building on Stella Street until it burned to the ground on the morning of March 16.

The giraffe has been considered the town’s unofficial mascot ever since resident Jeremiah Judd, after taking notice of the fun being made of the Novelty Hill wildlife bridge, Photoshoped a picture of a giraffe on the bridge and posted it on Facebook.

The Adventure Community Church is working toward rebuilding, with plans for a similar structure on Stella Street.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
