Units from across King County responded to another fire at Vivi Pizzeria in Woodinville on Sunday, Sept. 19. This marks the restaurant’s second fire in less than three months.
At around 8:25 a.m., Woodinville Fire & Rescue received a call from someone inside the pizzeria at 14505 148th Ave NE. The reporting party said the kitchen was on fire with flames reaching the ceiling, according to WF&R spokesperson Catherine Breault.
She said crews responded to the working fire and extinguished the blaze by 8:45 a.m. Woodinville firefighters were assisted by Redmond, Bothell, Kirkland fire departments.
Crews remained on the scene to check for any additional problems that might be lingering, Breault said. The firefighters took a look at the other nearby businesses and made sure there was no other possibility for further fire damage, she added.
On July 2, at about 12:50 a.m., a different fire resulted in the temporary closure of Vivi Pizzeria. The previous fire started as a dumpster fire that spread to the restaurant.
The flames had spread into the attic of the building when crews arrived, according to Woodinville Weekly reporting. To perform smoke ventilation, firefighters had to cut several holes in the room, Breault said.
No other businesses in the building were damaged during either fire.
Despite the two fires, Vivi Pizzeria will remain open with a limited menu.
