ILLEGAL DUMPING – 19300 133 AVE NE, Woodinville: On Sept. 30, around 9:30 a.m., a victim found garbage and debris dumped in his business parking lot. The items were tracked to a residence that was being remodeled in another city. That homeowner hired a junk hauler through a 3rd party app. The junk removal individual was contacted by Woodinville Police.
VANDALISM & THEFT – 15300 129 AVE NE, Woodinville: On Sept. 27, at about 11:23 a.m., a victim reported their vehicle’s catalytic converter was stolen overnight and “they had evidentiary items.” The suspect vehicle was also involved in a similar theft at a neighboring jurisdiction. Case was submitted and both agencies are aware and investigating.
CONSTRUCTION SITE BURGLARY – 13700 NW 171 ST, Woodinville: On Sept. 25, at about 6:32 a.m., suspect(s) broke into a construction site and several buildings. Fingerprints were lifted from several locations and submitted for processing. The construction company will review video footage and provide evidence to Woodinville Police at a later time.
Bothell Police Blotter
CREDIT CARD FRAUD – COMFORT INN, Bothell: On Sept. 12, around 10:40 a.m. and ongoing, Bothell Police received numerous calls concerning fraud and ID theft. Currently, all the victims are future hotel guests who have booked reservations/rooms at the Comfort Inn. It is suspected that the hotel’s chain data system may have been hacked. The unknown suspect(s) will deploy a phishing scam by calling victims and informing them about some type of error with the payment method. The suspect(s) would ask the victims to verify their full card number, expiration and 3-digit security numbers. Once these cards are obtained, the suspect(s) will withdraw money from their credit card and/or debit card. When officers contacted the on-duty hotel manager, he advised the hotel has also received numerous calls concerning this scam.
