Kirkland based nonprofit Attain Housing is conducting a virtual fundraiser, “Home is Still Where the Heart Is.” The event kicks off Sept. 18 and will run through Sept. 24.

The venue, according to a Sept. 14 press release, is Attain Housing’s largest fundraiser of the year and a virtual source of funding for their operations. The goal is to raise $180,000.

Attain Housing helps and supports families with children transition from homelessness to stability. It also provides rental assistance through the stable home program to help keep people from losing their housing.

The event was originally planned as a 300 in-person luncheon but had to change course with the restrictions that have been placed on large gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“2020 has shaped up to be a year like few others and obtain housing needs the support of our community more than ever," said Executive Director Kathy Fleming. "It's during times of crisis that we all rely on your fellow community members to rise to the challenge and support each other you will be the key to assisting families with case management services that help them make lasting life and leave them to permanent housing.”
