Six schools in the Northshore School District will return to the remote learning model until Jan. 24.

The schools switching to remote learning are Bothell, Inglemoor, North Creek and Woodinville high schools as well as Northshore and Skyview middle schools.

“This is due to substantial staffing shortages that are the result of COVID-19-related quarantines, general illnesses and other absences coupled with our inability to continue filling substitute positions,” Superintendent Michelle Reid wrote in the statement Jan. 12.

Students at the affected schools attended class in-person to collect devices and other necessary materials on Thursday, Jan. 13, Reid said.

“I continue to be so grateful for each of you and your herculean efforts during this epic time in our journey,” Reid continued. “I am confident that even with the uncertain road ahead of us, we have proven time and again that we are up to meeting any new challenge; together all things are possible. Thank you for your continued understanding as we navigate these new challenges presented by the COVID-19 Omicron variant.”
