Leif Herrington

Leif Herrington

May 5, 1950 –

November 14, 2019

After a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer, Leif passed away peacefully on November 14, 2019, at Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland, Washington, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 5, 1950, in Miami, Florida, to Diane and Lee Herrington. His father was in the Coast Guard and shortly after Leif was born the family moved to Alaska, where he grew up.

Leif attended Laurelwood Academy in Oregon, graduating as valedictorian of his class. His college days were spent at Walla Walla College and the University of Oregon, where he was inducted as a student into the Beta Gamma Sigma international business honor Society, one of the very top business school programs in the world.

Leif then worked in the computer industry, during which time he and his business partner, Ken Murray, started their own company in 1976, called Bidtek. In 1989 they sold the company and Leif and his family moved to Woodinville.

In 1979, Leif married the love of his life, Mem. They share three wonderful children: Danyelle Alicia Parry, Kevin Andrew Parry and Kami Nicole Herrington.

Leif joined Windermere Real Estate in Woodinville in 1990, where he quickly became one of Windermere’s top producers. In 2008, Leif and Mem moved to Anchorage, Alaska to join his sister, Lisa Herrington, in the Real Estate field. Together they started their own successful real estate company called Herrington and Company.

Leif loved boating and fishing and spent much of his free time doing so. Some of his happier days were spent aboard his boat, the “EXTASEA,” traveling the San Juan and Gulf Islands with family and friends.

Leif leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Mem, their three children, Danyelle, Kevin, and Kami, his sister, Lisa Herrington, and his brother, Lance Herrington.

His celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at 2 p.m. Please come and join us at 19254 176th Ave. N.E. in Woodinville, Wash.
