Sarah Pacchiarotti

Sarah Pacchiarotti

March 8, 1926 –

December 1, 2019

Sarah Pacchiarotti (nee Buffa), 93, wife of the late Rev. Frank Pacchiarotti, passed peacefully from this world to the next on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Regency Care Center of Monroe, Wash.

Sarah was born on March 8, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the first-generation Italian daughter of Domenico and Catherine Buffa, the youngest of eight siblings.

On July 28, 1946, Sarah married Frank Pacchiarotti, living for many years in Glen Cove and Hauppauge, New York. In 1968 they moved across the country to attend Seattle Bible Training School, where they were fondly known as “Mom and Pop” to the younger students.

While there they heard about a church in Australia that had been praying for a “Mom and Pop” to minister to the American servicemen fighting in Vietnam and so they answered the call, providing a place of refuge and respite for many.

In the early ’70s, they returned to Seattle to serve as Youth Pastors at Philadelphia Church in Seattle. Over the years Sarah and Frank served churches in Illinois, Texas, and Oregon.

A few years after the passing of her husband, Sarah moved closer to her west-coast family, returning many years and many miles later to Seattle.

Sarah loved to cook and serve. To count the number of people she fed well over the years is to count the people she touched. Good food was an expression of good love from Sarah.

Sarah is survived by her sons, Frank Pacchiarotti (Jacki) and Joseph Pacchiarotti (Jocelyn), grandson Robert Pacchiarotti (Karen), granddaughter Susan Rallo (Richard), grandson Brian DiPalma, granddaughter Marisa Pacchiarotti, and great-grandchildren Anthony Pacchiarotti, James Harkless, Aimee Pacchiarotti, Joseph Rallo, Aliyah DiPalma and Abbigail DiPalma.

Her family sends a special thank you to the staff at Regency Care Center, who looked after Sarah with kindness above and beyond their duty.

We know that there is a celebration for her in heaven as she was greeted by family, friends, and so many others that she introduced to the grace of God.

It is fitting, at this time of year to say, that she had a wonderful life.
