John Davis Gundersen "Jack," 85, passed away with family by his side at his home in Soap Lake, Wash., on June 29, 2022, after a long four-year battle with cancer. Jack was born in Seattle, Wash., on Nov. 23, 1936. He was predeceased by his dad John Davis Gundersen and his mom June Bernice Miller Gundersen. He was a brother to Bill Gundersen, Wayne Gundersen, Vivian Profit and Shirley Ainsley. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Sharon Marie Widdop Gundersen, and a very loving and giving dad to his daughter Tina Ann Gundersen Starks and son-in-law Adrian Russel Starks. His working career started out with serving in the Coastguard, followed by an apprenticeship in the carpenters union, which led to a successful career in contracting. He next excelled in sales, owning a John Deere dealership in Redmond, Wash., for many years. He then started Jacks Used Equipment, where he serviced a good portion of Woodinville's tractors and lawn mowers. He was always a hard worker with a smile. His next passion was Bottom of the Barrel. He enjoyed making furniture that was completely made from wine barrels with his son-in-law Adrian Starks. He was an incredibly gifted golfer and enjoyed taking his family on vacations to make memories. Some of the places he enjoyed was fishing in Montana, relaxing in Hawaii, gambling in Las Vegas and seeing his brother-in-law, and just having fun. He loved all of his friends dearly and thought of them as family. Truly a Woodinville Icon that will be missed by many and mostly by his family.Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. No service to be held at this time. Please leave a memory for the family or sign the online guestbook at www.scharbachs.com. Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel, Quincy, is assisting the family with arrangements.
